Lesson Planning
Different schools may require different lesson plans, some extrememly in depth and others that are very basic. I feel that as a teacher, it is important to know how to adapt your plans depending on where you work. Throughout my time at edison,I have become prepared to write very in depth lessons. However, when I got into my internship the lesson plans the school requires are very basic and to the point. In the beginning of my internship, I wrote these long in depth lessons but then I decided to try and create lessons using the template the school encourages. I was just as successful with my teaching and things ran just as smoothly, using these shorter lesson plans. I was able to shorten my workload by using this new template, allowing me to focus more on, coming up with fun and creative ways to teach the subject matter to my students. The lesson plans are all online on OnCourse a system this school uses (I copied a couple lessons and put them in word). A major difference between the two lesson plans is, the one from Diplomat middle requires an essential question, while our Edison template does not. I have provided examples of each of the lessons below.
